About Us
Carpe Momentum Capital (CMC) invests primarily in lower middle market manufacturing and technical service companies where we have prior experience/expertise and can add significant shareholder value. After the acquisition is completed, we actively assist the local management team to establish aggressive strategic, financial, and operational goals and then to meet or exceed those goals.
CMC is a private investment company, not a private equity fund, and as such does not have the external pressure to exit its investments at a pre-defined timeframe. Our team consists of senior executives that have extensive experience acquiring, developing, and optimizing companies. We invest our personal wealth in transactions and as needed, partner with our extensive network of banks, private equity firms, family offices, and high wealth individuals.
Greg Young - Founding Partner and Managing Director
Mr. Young began acquiring and developing companies in 1971 and has administered all aspects of M&A activities since that time. His private ownership of heavy manufacturing and technical service companies spans 45 years in commercial and government sectors; including an IPO over NASDAQ in 1990. He has conducted transactions and joint ventures in aerospace, defense, homeland security, information technology, technical government services, logistics and warehousing, health-care, telecommunications, and transportation. He led a defense contractor buy-side acquisition that won the 2011 Atlas Award in North and South America for “manufacturing deal of the year”.
While completing both tool and die and machine tool builder apprenticeships, he received BA and MBA Degrees and commercial pilot licenses from Western Michigan University.
He serves as a Board director for companies in Michigan, California, and New York.
He and his wife have three children and five grandchildren.
Clyde Swoger - Founding Partner and Managing Director
During his 30+ year career, Mr. Swoger has led more than 30 acquisitions, five major turnarounds, one NASDAQ IPO, multiple global expansion initiatives, and countless post-acquisition integrations. He has held senior executive positions for 3 Fortune 200 companies including roles in business development, finance, sales, operations, and general management. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to business opportunities and prides himself in working collaboratively with management teams to drive shareholder value through effective planning, organizational alignment, accelerated growth, operational excellence, and improved financial performance. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA.
